The Day of the Programmer represents an international professional day that is celebrated on the 256th day of each year, based on the binary code. Actually, the number 256 was chosen because it’s the number of distinct values that can be represented with an eight-bit byte, a value well-known to programmers. 256 is also the highest power of two that is less than 365, the number of days in a common year. When translated to binary code, the day reads 1 0000 0000.

We gathered last day, on a warm Thursday evening in order to celebrate the event that has become a tradition in the tech society of Timisoara. The 6th edition of Banat IT Autumn BBQ was one of the most exciting events in Timisoara that brought together members from all tech and IT sectors, with a proper mood for networking, socializing and entertainment. In other words, the event managed to put together the stakeholders in the local IT industry, ranging from IT employees and freelancers, researchers, universities, startups and other affiliated supporting services.

The event gathered hundreds of computer engineers for a cool evening at Iulius Gardens – Iulius Town Timisoara.

We’ve come together mainly to see each other and share interesting stories, but the entire atmosphere had an unique charm due to the vibrant live music and delicious burgers and grills.

We can only say that this was the perfect occasion for us to encounter friends and meet old colleagues after a long time.

Happy Programmers’ Day!
